THE LOUISIANA MARATHON AND THE HALF

  • The marathon and the half stay together for the first 10 1/2 miles
  • The courses return to downtown on the same route to North Blvd.
  • Once the runners reach North Blvd. the final stretch of the courses turns right on 3rd Street to Spanish Town and a quick turn to the 4th Street finish line

How can I find out if a runner has finished? 
Friends and family can track your progress in the marathon throughout the course through our timing company. Links will be available at http://www.thelouisianamarathon.com. Results for all events will be published on our website during and immediately following the race.

How can I find out if someone has dropped out of the race or is in the Medical Area?
Check at the Family Medical Information Tent which will be located near the Finish Line Festival, this is a secure runners only area. Detailed maps of the State Capitol grounds are available in the Official Spectator Guide and on the event website.

What are the best places to watch the race? – Top Five Places to Watch the Marathon

• Downtown – Start/Finish
• LSU Campus – Near Fieldhouse Drive and Indian Mounds
• LSU Lakes – Near Mile 6
• City Park
• North Blvd – Downtown


CHEER ZONES

A Cheer Zone is a place where spectators can gather to wait for their runner. This zone will be distinctively marked with tents and balloons. It will be stocked with snacks and refreshments as well as cheering supplies to make lots of noise. So come on out to the Cheer Zone and join your fellow spectators in creating the most inspiring and energizing zones of the course. The cheering zones will be located at:

North Boulevard Town Square Cheer Zone
Third Street and North Blvd. Intersection

Goodwood Village Cheer Zone

711 Jefferson Hwy – Baton Rouge, LA 70806
Hours of Operation: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
This Cheering zone is ideally located at Miles 16 and 21 to cheer marathon runners out and back during the later stages of the race. Getting There:  From I-10, take College Drive to Jefferson Hwy and take a Left.  Drive approximately .2 miles to Cheer Zone.
