SETTING A FOUNDATION

Our kids race programs are fun for the family and challenging enough to instil a since of real accomplishment when the finishing medals are awarded. By participating in an extended program, the conversation will be about running, techniques, schedules, food and recovery. Learning about these aspects of the sport will set a foundation for running for years to come.

PROGRAMS

There are 9- and 4-week race programs are free: the final leg on race-day must be purchased. Kids log their miles and on race-day they will complete the last 1.2 Miles or .5 Miles. Once across the finish line, they receive their own The Advocate Kids Marathon finishing medal.

Children do not have to complete the whole program to run on January 19th. Our goal is to encourage healthy and active lifestyles. Even if you hear about the kids run at the last minute, come on out, we’d love to see you!

AGES

The races will run simultaneously, contingent on participation and weather. For the 1.2-mile race, kids 6 & under to 12 years of age can participate. For the .5-mile race, kids 4 & under to 12 years of age can toe the line. There will be start waves of different age groups for both races.

There will be .25 mile and .6 mile turnaround signs and markers, with volunteers present to help everyone stay on course.
