610 STOMPERS

The 610 Stompers are many things but, first and foremost, we are Ordinary Men with Extraordinary Moves. Since our birth in 2009, we have evolved and grown into a 100-man strong, all male dance group whose bold mission is to return the ordinary man to the glory of dance. Men from their 20s to their 80s now proudly call themselves 610 Stompers, drawn from all walks of life and from across the country. While we come from many places, New Orleans is our birthplace and will always be our home. Only here could we create and nurture and grow the singular brand of entertainment we bring to the masses. As diverse as we are, we each share a passion for dance that fires when we see the faces of our fans light up as we dance by. And entertainment is not all our moves bring – the 610 men not only have extraordinary moves, we have extraordinary hearts.

Along with our 610 Splits, the strong and beautiful women who protect us, the Stompers have not only performed for more charitable causes than we can count, along the way we’ve raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to those causes. We call it “using our powers for good” and it’s one of the best things about being a 610 Stomper. But while spreading charity is a big part of what we are about, spreading our passion for dance is the true soul of our group and our lasting mission. It’s what keeps us going and growing and dancing into the hearts (and feet) of our fans. We’re coming your way, so get ready to get down with the 610 Stompers.

MICHAEL FOSTER PROJECT

Michael Foster and the high-energy sounds of the Michael Foster Project return for a 5th year to the Finish Festival.  They will help us kick off the Louisiana Marathon Festivities on Friday night when they lead the Rum Run starting at The River Center in a second line to Cane Land Distillery and then play a set on the patio!  Saturday they will take the Finish Festival stage at 11am with their unique Louisiana sound combining Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop.

The band: Michael Foster – tuba(sousaphone), bass, upright bass;
Chris Lee – drums, percussion; Terrance Taplin – trombone; Chancelier Skidmore – percussion; John Gray – trumpet and Roderick Jackson – saxophone.

QUIANA LYNELL & THE LUSH LIFE

Quiana Lynell is the singer, songwriter and bandleader of Quiana Lynell & the Lush Life. She’s a certified southern girl, infusing her classical training and gospel upbringing with her love for jazz. Embracing her four-octave range, she is able to perform a limitless repertoire. Her style is Jazz, Classical, Soul and Funk all at once. Or, as she has coined it, “JazzicalSOFunk,” which has been described as nothing you have ever heard.

BOOGIE LONG

From Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jonathon “Boogie” Long was born with the blues coursing through his veins. Brought up in a Southern Baptist community, he first picked up the guitar at the age of six, teaching himself old gospel songs. Years later, a teenage Long found himself playing weekly gigs at blues clubs and events around town. At fourteen, he left school to lay down his roots touring with local legend Henry Turner Jr. &  Flavor from 2003 to 2005, as well as putting in time with Louisiana legends such as Larry Garner, Kenny Neal, and James Johnson at local Blues jams. Boogie has shared the stage with standout musicians such as Warren Haynes and Govt Mule, Jimmy Vaughn, Greg Allman, ZZ Top, Dr. John, Rockin’ Dopsie, 3 Doors Down, Ellis Hall, Ann Wilson, Henry Gray, Lil Ray Neal, and Lou Marini of the Blues Brothers Band.

In 2011, Boogie Long was crowned Guitar Center’s “King of the Blues” from a field of over 4,000 contestants, in the competition for #1 Unsigned Blues Guitarist in America. Soon after, Boogie was sought out to film 2013’s “Boogie Blues Magic,” an instructional three-DVD set on which he shares his original tricks for learning fundamental blues styles (www.boogiebluesmagic.com).

In April of 2013, Boogie was tapped by B.B. King to support his four week tour, also doing shows with Robert Cray, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Larry Mcray. Shortly after, he was asked to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and has been blessed to perform every year since.

On another recent project, Boogie co-starred in the independent film, “We Are Kings,” a fictional story about an elderly couple that owns a juke joint in the Mississippi Delta. Boogie currently fronts his own blues/soul trio, The Blues Revolution. His soul-stomping vocals and monster guitar shredding, paired with bluesy songwriting chops make his powerhouse performances a “must see”. His debut album, “Blues Revolution”, was released in April of 2013 and his 2nd album, “Trying to get There” was released in August of 2016 with Louisiana Redhot Records.

CHRIS LEBLANC

Chris LeBlanc has been a mainstay on the Louisiana music scene for over 20 years.  He’s recorded and released 4 CD’s since 1995 on his own label Sweetroll Records and sold over 25,000 copies combined.
In 2012 Chris played a whooping 244 shows to crowds from all over.  He plays regional shows traveling the U.S., including Alaska as well as going play in Europe 6 different times.
Chris has been billed with such artist as;  ZZ Top, Hank Williams Jr, Buddy Guy, Dr John, BB King, Vince Gill & Brett Michaels to name a few.

One of Chris’ most cherished musical moments was a few years back, spending 4 days and nights at Dockside Studio in Maurice, La recording what would be Louisiana music ledgend, Bobby Charles’ last record entitled “Timeless”.  Chris was one of the guitar players on the session in the good company of fellow musicians Dr John, Sonny Landreth, Bobby Charles, Gerry McGee and Mickey Raphael.

Recently, Chris has been steady writing and recording music in his private studio.  His new music resonates a rich bluesy sound of the south and pays homage to some of his greatest influences.
That sound is reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters and every juke joint in between.

Chris LeBlanc is a musician’s musician and a performer’s performer.  Wowing audiences from town to town throughout America, Chris is living his dream by going out and touching people with his vibrant “BigMan” persona and real larger-than-life kind spirit.
His greatest accomplishment to date would be a husband of 17 years and Seth’s dad for 13. Won’t you sing it with him, “Love and Happiness”!!!
