BACKSTORY

The phrase déjà vu is a French term that literally means “already seen.” The phenomenon of  déjà vu is to have the sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, when in fact it hasn’t.

DeJaVu-1-180 DeJaVu-2-180 For this reason, we have created the Déjà Vu Award for those runners who see the finish line two days in a row. This finisher award is given to all runners who  complete the Saturday 5K at the Louisiana Marathon and finish the Marathon or The Half at the Louisiana Marathon.

HOW TO REGISTER

Sign up for both races — might have to do this 2x instead of all-at-once — online. We will track and cross-reference participants in the database and you can confirm registrations with getmeregistered.com or at The Expo at packet pick up.

WHAT IS A CRAWFISH TRAY

The Déjà Vu Award is a seafood tray — a.k.a. a crawfish tray — common in many restaurants and home seafood boils. This one in particular is designed by The Louisiana Marathon, and is ideal for serving up great Louisiana Seafood — especially, boiled crawfish, crabs and shrimp.

RUN THE QUARTER OR 5K + THE FULL OR HALF

The Louisiana Marathon could be sold out January 18, 2015; caps are set for 1,800 marathoners and The Louisiana Half Marathon tops out at 3,600 half-marathoners to ensure a quality experience for all: please understand that additional registrations will be available through our charity-fundraising partner program.

As a multi-race format, there is something for everyone. Runners and spectators will enjoy local music & entertainment along the course. Louisiana may be the birthplace of America’s only indigenous art form – jazz, but the state also hosts a diverse range of musical styles from country, gospel and blues to hip hop, rockabilly and rock’n'roll. You can expect to be entertained along the course by an incredible wealth of musical talent. When you come to Louisiana, don’t miss the music.
