The Louisiana Marathon is seeking a tremendously talented and creative individual to hire as an Event Coordinator. Superstars are needed to assist the Race Director and Executive Team. This position will start in September 2013 through February 2014 with the opportunity to extend through 2015. The position will be part-time or an estimated 20-30 hours per week to start and will start peaking in December through the first of the year as our event culminates on January 19th.

At The Louisiana Marathon, we want to be the best and continue to evolve as our event grows. We love new ideas and creativity and are constantly seeking to improve. This position requires excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and database experience. The Event Coordinator will monitor and respond to emails, phone calls and social media inquiries from runners and partners. Our event utilizes multiple online software programs that tracks registration, our online store, expo sales, virtual race bags and Quickbooks accounting software.
In addition to being proficient on the computer and online, your fantastic customer service skills are critical for this role. Monitoring voice mail, email and assisting at the Expo that will have an estimated 7,000 to 10,000 runners.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Character focused, funny, sharp as a tack, team players! But your degree is not in event planning? No problem! Have a degree in event planning? Great! The ideal candidate would reside in Covington, LA (Northshore) or Baton Rouge, LA. The majority of the work could be remote with the exception of meetings and being in Baton Rouge for a week or two prior to The Louisiana Marathon weekend.
