Meet Pace Leader for 3:05 Full, Lenny Samuel
When you aren’t running, what are you doing? What’s your day job?
Probably eating…I’m a Medical Equipment Repair Specialist at Our Lady of the Lake.
What is your best time at your favorite distance?
PR of 3 hours flat at Boston 2015…the marathon is a special distance.
What is your favorite part of the Louisiana Marathon course?
Where the half marathoners break away from the full between mile 10 and 11.
What has been your favorite half or full marathon and why?
The Boston Marathon is my favorite. It has all of the history and is really embraced by the surrounding
community, like a 26.2 mile parade.
What is your bucket list race?
I can’t decide on just one…but if you want hospitality and a good party, with a flat course and top notch production, you’re at the right one.
What is your pre-race meal of choice?
Anything so long as there are some white carbs and a beer or glass of wine included.
For people visiting Baton Rouge / Louisiana, what would be your top recommendation for what to do / eat / see?
Take time to check out the Louisiana State Museum and take the elevator to the top of the State Capitol. Eat or enjoy drinks at Tsunami’s downtown at sunset. Check out some of the plantations along River Road heading South.
